Faith to Believe

I have some repenting and apologizing to do – to God and to you.

Friday night, I sat on the couch under four blankets as a heating pad swaddled my head. I was working on a three-day old ice-pick to the skull migraine, my body was freezing, and my head was about to explode. Friday wasn’t my worse night ever, but man I was miserable.

Since 2000 my health issues have ranged from good to horrible. Since this wild ride began, I’ve begged and prayed for healing.

Friday night around 10:45 I was in bed praying, when God’s words whispered in my soul that I was healed. Heat from head to toe enveloped my body and my migraine was gone. We are talking one awesome experience!

I don’t believe this was just about a migraine. I believe His words encompass more. I didn’t suddenly feel like Popeye after a helping of spinach. I feel so much better, I believe God has healed me, but I must walk it out in faith. This is a pick up your mat and walk moment. It’s not just about receiving the healing, but walking in the healing. It’s about the moment-by-moment trust even when I can’t leap over buildings in a single bound.

I’m still processing and sorting, and I’ll admit to being cautious because I’ve felt better at other times. But I know this is different. I know because God told me I am healed. I apologize if that makes you uncomfortable, but God’s word tells us His sheep hear His voice. And I’m a sheep and I know my Shepherds voice.

I don’t want to pick up my mat and be too guarded to go the distance. I don’t want to plop back down because I’m afraid. I want to walk in faith and trust Him. I don’t want to hesitate to say it happened. To say what God has done and promised. If we don’t risk it – we don’t walk it.

God, I believe, help my unbelief!

“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith. Who is it that is victorious over [that conquers] the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on that fact]? (1 John 5:4 ESV, 1 John 5:5 AMP)

I'm believing, praising, and walking!!

Lisa, for years we lived in and out of hospitals with our son. A devastating illness stole much of his youth; Satan would have had us believe that there was no hope. Since he is the great deceiver, we continued to put our faith in the One who came to heal the sick and mend the broken.

Ultimately, our son WAS healed. Not in the way we'd planned, dreamed, or hoped, but in God's way. The timing wasn't our way either--but it was perfect because it was His way.

Blessings to you, Lisa, and I give Him praise for YOUR healing!

Sounds like a Kenneth Hagin healing from years back. He, too, had to get up and walk it though he still didn't feel 100%.

Be bold and grow your faith and get up. Lord, she believes, help her unbelief. Amen and amen!

Lisa,

I can so relate to what you've written. And I also REJOICE with you, my friend!! Yay Lisa!! (((Happy Hugs)))

Please don't apologize to me. I'm in agreement with you! God has told me He is going to heal me as well; that His grace is suffcient until then and to just keep trusting Him. And I believe Him! Totally. Still have many rough days but that doesn't change what He is doing. Or who He is. Faith truly is the substance of things hoped for or expected, the evidence of things not YET seen. We know to believe it is to see it with the Lord. I link my faith with yours. Love to you dear sister in Christ :)

I am s-o-o-o-o-o-o thrilled for you, dear Lisa! I think I'm getting ready to cry...yup...here it comes. May the Lord continue to restore you to great health! Be blessed in all things, sweetie! (Gotta go get a tissue!) Love you!

Well, I just became your FB friend last night...and I literally just saw on the side that we had some mutual writer friends, so I requested you. I never cease to be amazed at the connections God leads me to...and I hope this one is for you. You have to go to my blog and read my "about me" page which contains my testimony titled, "Addicted to the Chase." I am a pharmacist, and after 14 years behind the counter, I found my self on the other side of it as a patient for seven long years suffering with grand mal seizures, migraine headaches, and severe depression. God taught me SOOO many lessons during the seven years of the hell I was in. I pray that anyone who has similar struggles will read it as well. At the end of this seven years stretch, he gave me a very specific purpose, and I'm doing my best to fulfill it. I hope you are encouraged!

Hi Lisa - amen, amen, amen. As you pick up your mat and walk into that sunset of faith, I'm sure Jesus will walk next to you as you trust His word to you and live it out. Don't doubt my bloggy friend, even if the devil tries to show you false evidence to the contrary!!!!
God bless

Lord, thank you for healing Lisa! I know He heals because first and foremost, the Word says so. Also, because four years ago He healed me of fibromyalgia and chonic fatigue syndrome. It feels like I lost a year and a half of my life, and I still have a lot of health issues, but at least they don't keep me bedridden. Our God is SO good. Praise His Holy Name!!!
